Meeting minutes - 02/20/207
General: - All ASM board members to send an email to Chris regarding their Spring quarter class schedules. - Dania requested $50 for purchasing food platters for future social events.
Up-Coming Events: - Warren Buffet trip was a great success - Wine Tasting Benefit is on Friday with some great wines and great auction items.
Coffee-Talk fixes with Jim Stevens: - Water cooler schedule posted in the student lounge - The portable projector will come with a laptop. The two items will be checked-in and checked-out together. - Most popular magazines surveyed were the economist and BW - The 'easy-access' links surveyed will be forwarded to the GSM and will also be available on the ASM website. - Club leaders need to know about the club office and the club office keys.
Honoring Net Impact: - An rough headcount to be estimated for organizing the event. - Suggestions for honoring the C4C (along with NetImpact) for putting out the GSM and UCDavis name were put forward but a ruling was opposed. The issue is tabled for the next meeting with a request for all board members to re-think their thoughts on honoring C4C and NetImpact together. - In particular questions like 'Which club are we honoring?' and 'What is the purpose?' were raised.
New "Ethics" Elective? - The board supports the new ethics elective.
Map of GSMers - The board supports the map idea and plans implementing the same for the incoming students next year.
Reimbursements for conference participation: - The board was confused over the which conference the reimbursement request was made. - The board agreed on approving future reimbursements on a case by case basis with emphasis on how a particular event/participation helped promoting the GSM community.

General:
- Next meeting Feb 21st, 174 AOB IV, 7:45-8:45am!!
- Don't trouble Andrea for the Wells Fargo information session. She is only the message carrier.
- The International Potluck was a great success.
- A special committee, tech committee is being brainstormed. Suggestions from students are welcome.
- A weekly newletter with on-going GSM student events with a Trumba snapshot is being looked into.
Up-coming Events:
- Peer to Pier event has a conflict with NSBV (New and Small Bussiness Ventures) class. Students can come for the event after class.

- Office supplies are ordered
- Lockers have been acquired
- Portable Projector ordered or students
- Lounge Revamped
Item Updates:
- Magazines - popular choices - Economic times, Business Week, National Geographic
- Clubs to be communicated with specific magazine requests
Security and the ASM:
- Equipment has been disappearing from the GSM - Who is responsible? The board decided that members of the board will regulate the checkout of equipment personally. This means that any ASM officer can be approached for checkout. This ASM officer will issue the equipment and checkin the equipment when returned.
- The checking out officer is also responsible to ensure that the equipment is in order.
- What about Room-clean ups?
- An 'Outstanding Club' award (for best website and best run) was well received by the board.
Honoring Net Impact:
- The dean has expressed the GSMs interest in contributing to the cause.
- In addition, suggestions for 'reaching out to other depts', 'focussed invitation', and 'target ing other people in and around campus' were received.
- Honorium amount voted at $500
- Logistics of Day, time, and place are being worked out.
Day Program Restructuring Survey:
- Completed, compiled and to be sent to the Educattional panel committee.

- First one targeted for last week of Feb.
- Accomplishments, projects, on-going work, snippets and pictures to include are welcome.

Meeting minutes - 02/05/2007
General:
- The board meetings will now be held in room 224
- Good job Jyothin for updating the ASM website
Snow Day:
- The board unanimously decided to reimburse half the costs to two students for having a genuine reason for not being able to stay at the condo's during Snow Day. No reimbursement to students not having a genuine reason.
- The extras from the Snow Day are to be reused for future ASM social events.
Honoring Net Impact:In talks with the GSM to organize a collaborative honorium. International Potluck:
- On-going as planned.
- There were multiple suggestions for making it a C4C event and turning it into a competition. However given the short time we have left for the event the ideas will be considered for the next potluck event.
Picnic Day:
- There has been concern regarding the position of the GSM booth on picnic day.
- In general the board felt the booth would be great publicity for the school but not much in terms of recruiting prospective students.
- Some great ideas for the GSM booth were proposed like a huge banner, merchandise for kids, strategic positioning of the booth, hawaiian shirts, etc.
- The briefcase brigade is a definite event by the students of GSM.
Coffee-talk updates:
- Water cooler, chair cleaning done
- Office supplies will be in soon. The board decided to anchor heavy duty supplies either by cords or other means.
- The large size lockers will be made available for use one a first come first serve basis.
- Newspapers - no response from newspaper distributors. Periodicals - clubs are encouraged to suggest club specific periodicals as long as the subscription is supported by the club and there are enough people wanting access to the periodical.
- Portable projector - in order
ASM and Club Officers: Supplies to be moved to the club office. Operation Top 20:
- The motivations of the club are favourable.
- The board felt we should let the club evolve and grow and let it charter its goals and path.
- A new ASM board position to oversee OP-TOP 20 was suggested.
Goals and Commitments for 2007: Board members to brood over before the next meeting. Alumni Gift: A gift of $200 has been received by the GSM for supporting student participation in conferences and competitions. Proposals are to be sent to Jim.
