Meeting Minutes

 

Grant gave us an update on how Big Bang is doing. Bigger money.  More participation.  Things going well.  Final event - May 17th - How does Big bang get the extra money?

 

Danielle - Please plan on making club presentations at orientation.

 

Tim- Working on disorientation -June 9-11th - Life house in Monterey Bay -40 some people have registered. 

 

Heather -Things good. Admissions going well. Working with Paige and Danielle on MBA day. She now has a door.

 

Jon - 5 events brewing -

 

Josa - Meeting with WP and board members.  

 

Nick - Ability or lack there off to use Orientation for fund raising. Orientation - do we use orientation events for fund raising?

 

Paige - Taco-Margarita contest may 19th 7-8 at night.

      Chili Cook off

 

Wine Tasting Benefit – Amazing and awesome.   Went well. Raised over $11K, 4K more than last year.   Want to work on attendance for next year.  Need to be smarter about mailing lists.  

 

 

 

Clubs update -

 

Brian/ GSM Mom’s and Dads – Nothing done, has a vision that the club would be primarily an information group more than a “active” club.

     

Thomas – Net Impact – Green bag luncheons- Bringing different issues to the GSM body. Aiming for a couple a quarter. Renewable energy.

Career opportunities.  Site visits – HP’s recycling facility – Community development St Hope.  Board Fellows program give students an opportunity to sit on the board of a Non-profit. Symbiotic between students and the non-profit board. Campus Greening initiative -10 schools with a volunteer to help improve the campus.

New website and email newsletter.

 

Shalini- Marketing Association – Big goal is to make it active and exciting.  Officers meeting bi-weekly.  A lot of tentative events and a project with Tim Akins. 

 

Kristi- Women in Leadership – Pizza talk with Career counselor – want to sponsor orientation event. Sponsor clothing drive for abused women escaping violence.

 

Alex – Operation Top20 – Doesn’t need formal club recognition.  Recruit people to keep idea alive.

 

Nick – Finance Club – Brian Rocks – Make finance more accessible to people – 2 good events – Finance Career panel.  Co-sponsored Green Bag lunch with Net Impact.  Working on a site visit with an investment firm.

 

Danielle – Wine business consultants – sponsoring a 299 course, done several lectures with Curtis.
